Healing a broken heart can often feel like an insurmountable task.
Our emotions and feelings can seem overwhelming, and it can be difficult to know where to turn for support and guidance. But one of the best resources that we have at our disposal is the Bible.
Through its powerful words and uplifting affirmations, the Bible provides us with hope, faith, and encouragement in times of need. Whether it’s through a specific verse or passage that speaks directly to our situation or by simply committing ourselves to being present in scripture every day, bible verses provide us with the spiritual tools we need to begin healing our broken hearts.
With patience, perseverance, and faith in God’s infinite love and compassion, we can work through even the deepest pain and overcome any hurt that stands in our way. And ultimately, this allows us not just to heal from our broken hearts but also to grow stronger in spite of them.
So if you’re dealing with a broken heart today, look no further than the Bible for comfort, guidance, and strength on your journey towards healing.
Healing a Broken Heart in the Bible
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted;
he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
Give your burdens to the Lord,
and he will take care of you.
He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.
My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak,
but God remains the strength of my heart;
he is mine forever.
For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
You have allowed me to suffer much hardship,
but you will restore me to life again
and lift me up from the depths of the earth.
Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.
2 Corinthians 4:16-17
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
