The Story of Samuel
Samuel is born after Hannah prays for a son and dedicates him to the LORD. As a boy serving under Eli at Shiloh, Samuel receives a divine call and becomes recognized as a prophet. He later leads Israel in repentance and victory over the Philistines.
When Israel asks for a king, Samuel warns about the costs of monarchy but follows God’s direction and anoints Saul. After Saul repeatedly disobeys, Samuel announces the rejection of Saul’s dynasty and later anoints David.
