Psalms 46:10
Be still, and know that I [am] God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
What does Psalms 46:10 mean?
Within a psalm describing upheaval and conflict, the command to be still points toward ceasing striving and recognizing God’s sovereignty. Its peace comes from who God is, not from the absence of chaos.
Stillness can become an act of recognizing who God is.
