Take Heart and Be Strong
Change can be unsettling, especially when it is change that we aren’t looking for. Often times we combat unwelcome change, trying desperately to hold onto our predictability and comfort zones. It is so easy to fall into a systematic routine that seems to be working, and appreciate being in a status quo position. For me, routine=peace. When my routine is shaken, my stress levels quickly and exponentially increase.
It often takes a few days of fighting before surrendering to the change, and start to search for the purpose over it. How will this improve my “status quo?” What is God trying to show me? Who is God wanting me to empower with this? Sometimes I’m able to find those answers, and often I’m not. However, I’m given no choice but to press on.
Being in unexpected change reminds me of Joshua 1:9. It says: “Have I not given you your orders? Take heart and be strong; have no fear and do not be troubled; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go,” and acts as a great reminder that He is bringing us through our changes on purpose, and He has not left us. Have no fear to blaze through unexpected changes to find what God has waiting for you on the other side. He is with you every step of the way.
